DRs. Trenton W. Ford and Michael Yankoski participated in the ACM UMAP 2024 conference in Sardinia, Italy in July, 2024. The conference focused on User Modeling, Adaptation, and Personalization, considering ways that computer systems might be designed to better suit human partners. DRs. Ford and Yankoski presented some of their early-stage research on the ways that artificial intelligence based agents might be imbued with personality and memory in order to allow textured and deep simulated personas to emerge.
